About Us

The Pine Ridge Auction was founded in 1939. The original building was a small two story bank barn with outside plumbing. Jim Marlowe, a local auctioneer, purchased the property in 1966 and made many improvements and changed the name to the Marlowe's Pine Ridge Auction.  The original building burned in a fire on February 10, 1975.  A new 5100 square foot building was constructed and is still in use today. Jim and his wife, Marjorie, whom he married in 1969, ran the business together.  They housed many auctions from tools, to dealer auctions, to antiques and everything in between.  Marjorie became a licensed auctioneer in 1980 and is still working auctions today.

Sadly, James Marlowe died February 4, 2005, at the age of 88.  His vision and dedication to both his family and the auction profession will live on forever in our hearts and in the building which still houses the auction every Wednesday and Saturday night.

In April, 2006, Marjorie Marlowe chose to sponsor Jeffery Slone as an apprentice auctioneer.  In December of that year, Marjorie began to plan her retirement and contemplated selling the auction business she and her husband had built. After finishing his apprenticeship, Jeffery received his auctioneer's license from the Walton School of Auctioneering in October of 2007.  In the same month, Marjorie sold the Marlowe's Pine Ridge Auction to Jeffery and Jeanette Slone who changed the name back to the original Pine Ridge Auction.

Since then, the Pine Ridge Auction has continued to expand.  Many improvements have been made to the auction facility. The Snack Bar was remodeled, new shelving was added throughout the building, as well as new lighting and a sound system.  For estate, farm, industrial and commercial liquidations, 5 trailers have been added to our fleet so items can be brought to the auction house to be sold (or the sale can be held at your location).  The Pine Ridge Auction currently employs 10 people.

With auctions held every Saturday at 6 p.m., you don't want to miss a sale!
